Throughout life’s journey, we all struggle to cope with challenging and overwhelming times brought on by change, transition, stress, sadness, etc. My in-depth, hands-on experience and training in the mental health field provides me with the knowledge and skills necessary to help support and guide you through such periods. As your therapist, I will work with you to identify the core issues at hand, and under my guidance and support, we will work together to develop and carry out a plan to address your immediate challenges and bring about positive life changes.

Developing a therapeutic rapport where each client feels secure, welcome and free of judgement is key. My practice centers on a strength-based therapeutic approach during all of the counselling sessions. This approach builds on your current strengths and on recognizing and developing new strengths and skills,  to identify the core issues at hand and an associated plan for treatment. As sessions progress, other treatment models (e.g., attachment theory, family of origin, family systems theory, cognitive behaviour therapy, etc.) may also be employed and specifically tailored to meet each client’s needs.

I have extensive hands-on and managerial experience working in the mental health field (over 16 years experience as Manager at the Canadian Mental Health Association and over 5 years experience as Manager, Montfort Hospital Mental Health Outpatients Department). I have worked with individuals and families living with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, bipolar disorder, suicide, trauma, addictions, grief, burn out, etc.

I am a certified Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Trainer (ASIST) and a trainer in Motivational Interviewing and have delivered contracted training services for such to large organizations (e.g., Canadian Armed Forces, Department of National Defense, various Government of Canada departments, etc.) over the past 20 years.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I hold a Master of Counselling and Spirituality from Saint-Paul University and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Carleton University.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy services in both English and French.

Life is a wonderful journey, come walk with me for awhile.
